The Difference

The difference sparks at random
'Tween my 'motions and my heart
As though the Lord of Chaos
Were the horse that draws the cart

My wheels of thought, they rumble
And I hear each fateful noise
Like a hiccup, or a grumble
Which disrupts all sense of poise

The more I seek to alter
The louder it does roar
I stumble, and I falter
As I strive to reach the shore

A world of confusion
My legacy from birth
A realm that I'd forgotten
Since I've dwelt upon the Earth

Reality was easy
My thoughts came clean and clear
My focus , sure and steady
My days untouched by fear

I'm waiting for the sunrise
I know it's hour draws nigh
I watch, from out the shadows
For it's brilliance in the sky.
